About Maison Udo
How did Maison Udo begin?
Maison Udo was inspired by my love for animals and the special bonds they bring into our lives. Like many pet lovers, I wanted a home that felt warm, welcoming, and comfortable while still smelling beautiful.
What started as a love for fragrance and companionship grew into a collection of thoughtfully crafted candles and home fragrance products designed to celebrate companionship, create peaceful spaces, and remind us that every scent can tell a story.
What is The Bond Collection?
The Bond Collection is Maison Udo's signature candle collection inspired by the companionship, loyalty, and unconditional love our animals bring into our lives.
Each fragrance was thoughtfully created to reflect a different personality, feeling, or connection because no two bonds are exactly alike. From playful and energetic to calm and comforting, every scent tells its own story while celebrating the moments and memories that make a house feel like home.
Why are the candles named OBI, ADA, TAYO, LIORA, VIDA, ALLURE, and ÀṢẸ?
The names in The Bond Collection weren't chosen by accident. Each one was selected for its meaning and the feeling behind the fragrance it represents.
From joy and devotion to comfort and companionship, every fragrance was given a meaningful name to reflect the feeling, personality or connection behind its story.
Do all Maison Udo candles support animal welfare?
Yes. Our ÀṢẸ (Rescue/Mixed Breed) candle gives back with every purchase. A portion of every ÀṢẸ candle purchased helps support animal welfare, honoring the resilience, love and second chances that inspired the candle's story.
Products & Fragrance
Are your products handmade?
Yes. Every Maison Udo candle is hand-poured in small batches in Texas, allowing us to focus on quality, consistency, and the details that make every fragrance feel intentional.
What type of wax do you use?
Maison Udo candles are crafted using a premium soy wax blend made with high-quality soy wax and a small amount of paraffin wax. We chose this blend intentionally because it provides a stronger fragrance throw, a smoother and creamier finish, and a longer-lasting burn than soy wax alone.
The result is a candle that not only looks beautiful but also fills your space with fragrance from the first burn to the last.
We believe the best candle isn't about using the most popular wax—it's about choosing the blend that creates the best overall experience.
How long do your candles burn?
Our Signature Collection candles provide approximately 60+ hours of burn time with proper candle care. Actual burn times may vary depending on your environment and candle care practices.
Do you offer wickless candles?
Yes. Select fragrances are available in a wickless option designed for use with a candle warmer, letting you enjoy the same signature Maison Udo fragrance
without an open flame, making it a wonderful choice for customers who prefer a flameless experience or have curious pets in the home.
Are your products pet-friendly?
Maison Udo products are thoughtfully created for homes shared with the ones we love — including our pets. While no home fragrance product can be guaranteed to be suitable for every pet or every environment, we recommend enjoying our candles, room sprays, and reed diffusers responsibly and in well-ventilated areas. Never leave a burning candle unattended and always allow your pets to move freely away from any fragrance if they choose.
For customers who prefer not to use an open flame, select fragrances are also available in a wickless option designed for use with a candle warmer. It's a wonderful alternative for homes with curious pets or for anyone who simply prefers a flameless fragrance experience.
How do I care for my candle?
For the best burn experience, trim your wick before each use and allow the wax to melt evenly across the surface during the first burn. Avoid burning your candle for more than four hours at a time, and always place it on a heat-resistant surface away from drafts, children, and pets.
Detailed candle care instructions are included with every order.

Candle Care
Why is the first burn important?
The first burn helps set the memory of your candle. Allow the wax to melt evenly across the full surface before blowing it out. This helps prevent tunneling and supports an even burn throughout the life of the candle.
How do I care for a wood wick?
Before each burn, gently trim the wood wick to about 3/16 inch and remove any loose or charred pieces. A properly trimmed wick helps the candle burn evenly, keeps the flame from becoming too high, and allows the wood wick to create its soft, comforting crackle.
My wood wick won't stay lit. What should I do?
A wood wick may struggle to stay lit if it is too long, has too much charred buildup, or if the wax pool is not even. Trim the wick, remove any loose charred pieces, and relight.
Wood wicks need a little extra care, but when maintained properly, they create a beautiful flame and a soft crackling ambiance.
How long should I burn my candle?
For the best experience, burn your candle long enough for the wax to melt evenly across the surface, but avoid burning it for more than four hours at a time. Always place your candle on a heat-resistant surface and keep it away from drafts, children, and pets.
Where can I find full candle care instructions?
Full candle care instructions are included with every order and can also be found on our Candle Care page.
Wickless Candle Care
What is a Wickless Candle?
Maison Udo wickless candles are designed to release fragrance without a flame. Instead of lighting a wick, place the candle on or beneath an electric candle warmer made for jar candles.
Because the wax is warmed rather than burned, the wax may remain in the vessel even as fragrance is gradually released. Always follow the operating, size, and safety instructions provided by the manufacturer of your warmer.
Using a Top-Down Warming Lamp
Place the wickless candle beneath a warming lamp designed for jar candles and adjust the lamp according to the warmer manufacturer's instructions.
A top-down warmer melts the wax from the surface downward, creating a melted wax pool at the top of the candle.
When the fragrance from the melted layer becomes noticeably weaker, turn the warmer off. While the wax is still liquid and can be handled safely, carefully remove a small amount of the fragrance-depleted melted wax into a heat-safe disposable container. Allow it to cool completely before disposal.
Removing the spent surface wax exposes fresh scented wax underneath for future warming.
Never pour melted wax down a drain.
Using a Bottom Warming Plate
Place the wickless candle directly on an electric warming plate designed for jar candles, making sure the candle fits within the warmer manufacturer's recommended size limits.
Bottom warmers heat the candle from below and may warm a larger portion of the wax than a top-down lamp. Allow sufficient time for the candle to warm and release fragrance.
Because bottom warming does not create the same fragrance-depleted surface layer as top-down warming, do not periodically pour wax from the top of the candle as part of normal care.
Continue using the candle until the fragrance becomes too faint for your preference, then discontinue use.
Always follow the warmer manufacturer's operating and size recommendations.
When Will I Know the Fragrance Is Finished?
Wickless warming does not consume wax the way burning a candle does, so wax remaining in the vessel does not necessarily mean fragrance remains.
Over time, repeated warming releases the fragrance from the wax and the scent will gradually become weaker.
With a top-down warming lamp, remove a small amount of the fragrance-depleted melted surface wax when scent performance noticeably declines to expose fresh wax below.
With a bottom warming plate, continue warming until the candle no longer provides the fragrance strength you prefer, then discontinue use.
Important Safety Information
- Use only an electric candle warmer or warming lamp designed for jar candles.
- Always follow the warmer manufacturer's operating, size, placement, and safety instructions.
- Place the warmer and candle on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface.
- Keep away from children, pets, water, drafts, and flammable materials.

Reed Diffuser Care & Tips
When will I begin to notice the fragrance?
After inserting the fiber reeds, allow approximately 48–72 hours for the reeds to fully absorb the fragrance oil and for the scent to develop. The fragrance will gradually become more noticeable as the oil travels through the reeds.
Where should I place my reed diffuser?
For the best scent experience, place your diffuser in a small to medium-sized space such as a bathroom, bedroom, office, entryway, den, or similar area. Reed diffusers provide continuous, subtle fragrance and are not designed to strongly scent large or open-concept spaces.
Place the diffuser on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight and excessive heat.
How can I adjust the fragrance strength?
The number of fiber reeds can be adjusted to suit your preferred scent level. Use more reeds for a stronger fragrance experience or fewer reeds for a softer one. Using more reeds may cause the fragrance oil to diffuse more quickly.
Do I need to flip the reeds?
Routine flipping is not necessary for continuous fragrance. If you would like a temporary boost in scent, the reeds may be carefully turned occasionally. Keep in mind that turning the reeds more frequently can increase fragrance output and may cause the oil to be used more quickly.
When turning reeds, use care to avoid dripping fragrance oil onto furniture or other finished surfaces.
How do I care for my reed diffuser?
Keep the diffuser upright on a stable, protected surface and away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, children, and pets. Allow the fiber reeds time to fully absorb the fragrance before judging the scent strength.
If the reeds become dusty, overly saturated, or no longer diffuse fragrance effectively, replace them with fresh reeds.
